2015 Nebraska FFA State Convention Preview | Live A Legacy

PrintIt’s that time of year again, State Convention is right around the corner!

This year there are a lot of new and exciting changes for this year’s State Convention, including new venues, sessions and schedules. Convention events will be held at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Holiday Inn and UNL East Campus. All session will be streamed online live.

This year students will start earlier than it has in past years. On Wednesday, convention registration will open at 9:00 am, with events such as Ag Issues Academy and some Career Development Events (CDEs) and the Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Skill Event going on throughout the day.

Wednesday kicks off with additional CDEs and delegate and legislative breakfast. The Gary Scharf Helping Hand Award and donor and sponsor recognition will be presented during the fourth session on Thursday at 4:30 and the Sponsor and Proficiency Award Finalist Dinner will follow.

Proficiency Award winners will be announced on Friday morning at the 9:00 session and CDE and LSE award winners will be recognized at 1:30 p.m. session. Finally, the last session of the 87th State FFA Convention will begin at 4:00, where StarsOver Nebraska winners will be announced, State Degrees will be awarded and the new State FFA Officers will be announced.

In addition, the FFA Expo and Career Fair will both be at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The FFA Expo will be open Wednesday through Friday and the Career Fair is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10. It’s not too late to register for either the Career Fair or Expo.
